Dear Dr. Boas,
I so much appreciated your letter written with your own hand to bid me God speed for this most turbulent voyage. So far I have done no work as it’s been unbearably rough and I’ve been sick the whole time. But I have hopes for work when we leave the Australian Coast. I shall of course follow your advice about making a short report to the Council.
Very sincerely,
Margaret Mead
