Jerry White - Professor Emeritus
Jerry White is currently Chair of the London Community Foundation and Emeritus Full Professor. He stepped down as Senior Associate Dean Faculty of Social Science in 2015 and retired in 2017.
He was Founding director of the Aboriginal Policy Research Consortium (International); Editor-in-Chief of the International Indigenous Policy Journal and a Senior Associate editor of Regions: Economics and Sociology, Russian Academy of Sciences ( He resigned from the academy in protest of the invasion of the Ukraine in 2014).
As a Professor and former Chair of the Department of Sociology he has held many posts at the University of Western Ontario including Acting Director of First Nation Studies, and Senior Advisor to the Vice President. Jerry served 8 years on Western’s Board of Governors , King’s University Board of Directors and as President for Board of the Museum of Ontario Archeology. Over his career he has served on many public inquiries and Provincial boards including being the founding co-Chair of the Ontario Health Professions Regulatory Advisory Council. In this capacity he implemented the Regulated Health Professions Act.
