United Nations World Population Prospects Database
- This database creates comprehensive tables displaying demographic profiles and major demographic indicators for major areas, regions and countries for 1950-2050. Data for 2005-2050 are projections based on four variant growth assumptions.
- Country Overviews are standardized pages prepared by the Development Gateway team to offer general reference information on economic and social development in approximately 160 countries. Content for these pages is drawn from standard international sources and were chosen for their broad country coverage, and either encyclopedic background information or specialized coverage of a development topic.
- Presented by the Library of Congress, Portals to the World is an electronic database containing selective links that provide information on the various nations and other areas of the world. Countries are arranged alphabetically and contain links sorted in areas such as General Resources, Government and Law, Literature and Culture, News and Current Events, Libraries, Business and Residential Directories, and much more.
- InfoNation data, drawn from the United Nations Statistics Division, allows the user, through a frames-based interface, to select up to seven of 185 countries and four of 37 variables. Retrieval is for the latest year available only, providing a snapshot view of country information.
International Data Base (IDB) (US Census Bureau)
- computerized data bank containing statistical tables of demographic, and socio-economic data for all countries of the world.
- This collection of facts about the countries of the world includes information about: mortality rates, literacy, religion, labor force, government and diplomacy, economy (unemployment, exports and imports, currency and exchange rates, etc.), transportation, communication, and defense forces. Information is presented in list format.
United Nations Social Indicators
- Social indicators covering a wide range of subject-matter fields are compiled by the Statistics Division, Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat, from many national and international sources in the global statistical system.
