Population, Work, and Family Policy Research Collaboration

The Population, Work, and Family Policy Research Collaboration (PWFC) is a partnership that coordinates consultation between the research community and the federal government policy research process, and is chaired by the Government of Canada's Policy Research Initiative.

PWFC's research community includes the Population Change and Public Policy cluster and two other clusters:

  • Canadian Labour Market
  • Bringing all the Threads Together: The Contribution of Longitudinal and Life Course Approach to Knowledge, Informed Public Debate, and Decision Making

The Federal Departments participating in the PWFC are:

  • Policy Research Initiative
  • Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council
  • Human Resources and Social Development Canada
  • Statistics Canada

The First Annual Symposium of the PWFC was held in Ottawa on March 23-25, 2006.
The Second PWFC Symposium was held on December 7-8, 2006 at Château Cartier, Gatineau, Québec.
