Updated October 19, 2009

Last week The Research Data Centre, the Aging and Health Research Centre and the Inter-disciplinary Initiative in Population and Life Course Studies of the University of western Ontario hosted the Canadian Research Data Centre Network's seventh annual conference on Health over the life course.

Some 120 participants from the academic and policy communities attended the conference which largely operated as plenary sessions based on a selection of the best papers with broad appeal to an inter-disciplinary audience. Dr. David Butler-Jones, the Chief Public Health Officer, and a top international researcher on health and life course studies was the keynote speaker.

The conference succeeded in its interests of emerging methods, including quantitative methods, for studying health over the life course; and it also welcomed papers relating the life course to the utilization of health services, and health system efficiency and effectiveness.
