Mead to Boas - March 19, 1926: [handwritten]
Dear Dr. Boas:
After receipt of your letter as [to] presentation of results, and because of the increasing difficulty of living in Manu’a with too many people quartered at the Dispensary for me to stay there and a famine in native foods, I’ve decided to finish up my work here in the next month and leave Samoa on the Sonoma sailing April 27 from San Francisco Pago Pago. I will get my results pretty thoroughly worked up for the Council on my 6 weeks voyage.
Thank you so much for your letter and the help and encouragement it contained.
Very sincerely,
Margaret Mead
