Mead to Boas - Jan. 14, 1926: [handwritten]

Dear Dr. Boas:

We are having another boat unexpectedly and I want to acknowledge your very lovely letter and also the cable. I suppose the cable means the hurricane was in the newspapers. I answered at once with the cable address for Columbia - and Western Union refused that address - so it was cabled back and held up several days. I am very sorry if you were worried and I appreciate so much your taking such an interest in my welfare. I will write more fully by the next mail.

Very sincerely,

Margaret Mead
