Population Change and Lifecourse

Student Competition for Funding of Internships, Trainings, Workshops and Conference Presentations

The SSHRC grant to the Cluster has funds to support various development and training expenses including (1) internship/apprenticeship with a government, NGO or academic research unit, (2) attending training workshop, (3) spending a period away from home university, and (4) travel. These Cluster grants have no funds for research, but there are funds to support the future generation of researchers, including specialized training, exchanges and costs associated with knowledge mobilization. Funds for travel will be allocated when the post-doc or student is the first author on a paper presented at an international or Canadian conference where the themes of the cluster are a major consideration of the conference. Applications must be for events taking place no earlier than one month after application deadline.

Post-doctoral fellows are persons who have graduated in the past five years and who do not have regular employment. The Cluster also has funds for student involvement in knowledge transfer activities and for projects to enhance data infrastructures (see RFP for these initiatives).

Please pass this notice on to students who may be interested.
